1 PLJ Band Intro Armageddon 1982 Vertigo / Polygram
The group seems to have gotten their cue for the album concept from fellow Greeks Aphrodite's Child and their album _666_. The album is replete with bible quotes from the Book of Revelations and the end of the world. The music itself is not at all derivative of Aphrodite's Child, though. It is quite an excellent album of spacey guitar prog, that makes you think of things other than the day-to-day.

2 Vangelis He-O Earth 1973 Vertigo / Polygram
I believe that this is Vangelis' first official solo release. This is a pretty far-out album. Only a mystically minded person could conceive and perform such music. Highly recommended. The guitar player from Aphrodite's Child also composes and performs on this album.

3 Zingale Stampede Peace 1977 Krypton / Third Ear Music
Zingale, from Israel, released only this single album. It's Canterbury influenced prog with violin. The vocals sometimes sounded like Mike Pinder of the Moody Blues doing an Ian Anderson imitation. When the vocals become louder, it has a Peter Hammill flair, but, certainly not as good. There are plenty of instrumental moments on the album, too.

4 Socrates Mountains Phos 1976 Vertigo / Polygram
Socrates have at least 3 albums. This one features Vangelis on keyboards. I can hear an influence of Gentle Giant's more accessible songs, especially in the guitar playing. I do not really hear much Vangelis activity here, but, he never has been one to draw attention to himself. The guitars are the primary instrumentation.

5 Phoenix Invocatie Cant of a Bule 1975 Fanny (not sure if it is legit)
Phoenix is from Romania. The lead vocalist reminds me alot of the lead singer from the Crash Test Dummies. I also liked that guys vocal style - deep and chant like - too bad about the ho-hum music, though. So, here with Phoenix, I can here what that guy might have sounded like with some great prog music!
