Sjef Oellers 10-Mar-2001 Rahmann

Rahmann were located in France, but had a fairly international line-up led by the Algerian guitarist Mahamad Hadi. On their self-titled album from 1978, Rahmann serves up some blistering jazz rock not unlike Area, Zao, Mahavishnu Orchestra and the more fusion oriented parts of Tantra. On several tracks they successfully incorporate ethnic elements in their music as well. The album is mostly instrumental with occasional wordless vocals. The musicianship is outstanding throughout the album. A superb album and highly recommended if you like any of the bands above.
